city. We were given a map with clues and you and your group
run off and hunt for the answer to the questions on your sheet.
You can find these hunts advertised
in newspapers like the San Francisco Chronicle.

This was our first trip to Raleys Field.  We didn't go to a game
but attended an event with friends. We received free food and
were allowed on the field. We got to hit a few balls out to the
outfield. This is a very nice stadium.

The Grand Canyon Caverns, Arizona, USA. July 12 1012

The Grand Canyon Caverns.  The grand Canyon area has weather
that can go from a heat wave to flash floods so it would be a
good idea to bring a light weight jacket with a hood.
The Grand Canyon Caverns are located a little ways away
from the Grand Canyon on the South Rim.  This is not connected
to the Grand Canyon Park.
We are waiting for the elevator to take us back up to ground level.
You can rent the room out for the night in the caverns.  Looks
like fun.

the tour was a lot of fun.

On the way to the South Rim Grand Canyon Park, there are lots

At these look out points they ask for a donation to see the view.  Some of
these look out places sale jewelry and other Native American

the rim.  The trail is easy and the views are awesome.

The Grand Canyon North Rim, Arizona.  The North Rim is
not as busy as the South Rim.  The views are spectacular and
the lodge looks like it is very relaxing.  If you don't want to
stay at the lodge you can also go camping here.
At the lodge there is a restaurant with at great view of the Grand
Canyon, or you can go out on the patio and have a drink.

On May 13,2012  we went to Jamestown, Ca.  We went to the Rail Town State Historic Park  and rode the train.  They had friendly tour guides on the train.  Afterwards we ate at the Wood Creek Cafe.  I would recommend this restaurant, good food, good prices and pleasant atmosphere.  They had lots of cow decorations that were very cute. They are open for breakfast and lunch and close at 2PM.
Here is the old time street musicians.

Our Calistoga Trip March 26 & 27 2012

Old Faithful of California.
The gyser went off every 5 minutes because
of the rain.  In the summer it only goes off
every 30 to 45 minutes.

Bothe-Napa Valley State Park

The trail to the pioneer cemetery.

The cemetery had head stones outside of this yard also.

This head stone had the oldest dates.
The air was so fresh and the sun was shining. This was a wonderful day for a hike.

I believe this is the Napa River. If you cross this river you get to another park called Bale Grist Mill Park. They have a mill there where people used to grind their wheat and socialize. We didn't cross the river. We will save that for another visit.

The Calistoga Inn is where we stayed. It was clean and quaint. The Inn is European style with only 2 bathrooms to share for the 18 rooms and no television. The building is over 100 years old.

There are lots of shops to browse in and many different restaurants to eat at.

We ate dinner in the Bar and tried some of there beer. The bartender/ waitress was very nice and the meal was good. The bar seemed to be a place that the locals also enjoyed.

The garden at the Rombauer winery, had lots of little trails and picnic benches so on a sunny day you could enjoy your wine, but you have to supply your snack because they don't sell food here.
