This is the old courthouse, which is still
used once a month. The museum is also
a nice place to check out .

Hidden Falls Regional Park, Auburn, California

Hidden Falls Regional Park

7587 Mears Place, Auburn,  is the address.
 This is a wonderful park with lots of
 nice trails.  Most of the trails are moderate in
 difficulty. We hiked 8 miles in January
2014 and because of the drought we had
perfect weather.

Make sure you close the gate so the cattle don't get
out.

We went out on 2 outlooks with nice views.

The cattle were shy and stayed away from us, but
we could hear the cow bell and watch them from
a distance.  We will come back and enjoy these
trail. Horses and mountain bikes are allowed on
some of these trails

Rancho Seco Recreational Area, Herald, California

The park is a winter refuge for ducks, geese,
hawks, bald eagles, blue heron and migratory birds.

Two iconic empty towers hint at the history. Now there is
hiking on Howard trail  and year-round camping,
 boating, fishing, swimming,wildlife viewing.

We hiked the 7 mile Howard trail in January of 2014 .
There is a drought right now so it looks very dry. The trail 
is marked but some of them are laying on the ground
facing the direction you need to. You cross onto a ranch
and walk by cattle. Rancho seco Recreational Area this 
time of year is very quiet.

NCL Panama Canal Cruise, Miami Florida, Day 15 we disembark and go on an excursion, Everglades by airboat and then to Miami Airport. I put this in wrong so the last day is first, it is backwards.

Best way to get to the airport for a great
price.  We had a nice excursion and they
keep our luggage on the bus, we made it
to the Miami Airport on time. And our
tour guide was very knowledgeable.

The ranger had a wonderful relationship
with the Crocodiles and Alligators. It was
as if they were his pets. Nothing that you
or I could do unless we were taught.

For 3 dollars the ranger let me hold
a baby alligator.

This park had so many different types
of alligators and crocodiles, very
enjoyable.

Nice walk ways to venture on your own
and look at the alligators and crocodiles.

NCL Panama Canal Cruise, at sea for day thirteen and fourteen.

  At the Stardust Theater on night 11 we saw "MARRAMBOLTA" featuring Acrobatic duo Maria & Dimitry.
We were amazed at what they did, fantastic performance.
On night 12 we saw Sanders & Alison Magika we really enjoyed their show and they are also very talented, you
won't want to miss it.
On night 14 the talented Norwegian Star Crew, sang, and danced, very entertaining.
The last show was amazing you won't want to miss it. I will leave you surprised.

History

Known as the Heroic City, Cartagena de Indias is a city rich in history in its streets and its inhabitants. It was founded in 1533 by Don Pedro de Heredia a Spaniard conqueror Cartagena became the most important Spanish port in America. 

Due to its excellent geographical location and military stronghold Cartagena de Indias also became a haven for the treasures and riches of the Spanish crown. To defend the city against the successive attacks of pirates and buccaneers, magnificent city walls and fortifications were built to surround and protect it. All those remain today as reflection of the history of this impressive colonial town. 

The streets, houses and balconies of Cartagena?s historic downtown, known as the Walled City are evidence of the architecture of beautiful colonial Spanish town. This old city, bursting with history, was declared a World Cultural and Historical Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

you when you got off the bus.

was where the Spaniards keep there riches.

The old city.  Many of these homes
have been bought and restored. Justin Biber
owns a home here and has restored.

Pretty old town with a lot of history
and our guide was very good.

The more buttons on a door the more
prestigious you were. Above the door
family emblems were placed.

This is a torture chamber where
they would kill people they believed
to be witches.  If you weight less
than 90 lbs you were automatically
a witch, or if someone accused you
of being one.  Finally the Colombians
people got tired of it and rebelled and
the government had to stop the practice
of killing and torturing people they
thought to be witches.

The new part of Cartagena
is a large busy city. The population in
2005 was 845,801.
